Jason Kelce, the retired Eagles great, has debuted his new late-night television show “They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce” on ESPN. The first episode of the five-part series was taped in front of a live audience from Philly concert venue Union Transfer and aired at 1 a.m. EST.
Kelce brought his unique personality to the stage, incorporating humor, sports talk, and even some profanity into the monologue. He sat down with guests Charles Barkley, Lil Dicky, and Brian Baldinger for a discussion on various sports topics during commercial breaks.
The show is a nod to NFL Films’ classic series “They Call It Pro Football,” which Kelce said he wanted to celebrate the NFL landscape in all its forms. The Philadelphia-based band Snacktime provided the music, and Kylie Kelce made her debut as the foul-mouthed sidekick from her perch in “Kylie’s Korner.”
Kelce aimed to create a show that would appeal to fans nationwide, not just those in Philadelphia. While it remains to be seen whether the show will become a regular staple, the first episode was met with enthusiasm and praise.
“I’m so happy with how it went,” Kelce said after the show, reflecting on the production process. With its unique blend of humor, sports, and entertainment, “They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce” is sure to be an exciting addition to late-night television.
