Jay-Z Accuser Drops Rape Lawsuit After NBC Report Raises Questions

Jay-Z’s accuser has dropped her lawsuit against him after the anonymous woman claimed to have been raped by the rapper and Sean Combs when she was 13 years old. The decision comes amid controversy, as an NBC report called into question details from her account.

The plaintiff’s lawyers had initially stood by their client, citing that being a victim of sexual abuse can cause memory lapses. However, after NBC reported inconsistencies in her story, including her father’s alleged recollection of picking her up, the complaint was voluntarily dismissed with prejudice.

Jay-Z had vehemently denied the claims from the start and celebrated the decision, stating that the lawsuit “never going anywhere.” Combs’ lawyers also released a statement, claiming that their client has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone. The lawsuit, first filed in October, added Jay-Z as a defendant in December.

The high-profile case had sparked a bitter legal dispute between Jay-Z’s lawyers and the plaintiff’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee. However, with this decision, the case is now closed.
