Jay-Z and Sean Combs Rape Lawsuit Dismissed Without Prejudice

A lawsuit against rapper Jay-Z and businessman Sean “Diddy” Combs has been dropped by its anonymous plaintiff, Jane Doe, according to a court filing. The case, which alleged the rape of a 13-year-old girl in 2000, was dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled.

Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s entertainment company, released a statement calling the allegations “frivolous and fictitious.” Jay-Z himself stated that he had endured “trauma” but emphasized the importance of protecting innocent people from baseless accusations. His attorney, Alex Spiro, said the case was without merit and that Jay-Z “triumphed and cleared his name.”

The lawsuit was initially filed in October by Jane Doe, who alleged that both men assaulted her after an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty. However, she later admitted to making mistakes and raising questions about her credibility. The court had previously approved a request to dismiss the case due to inconsistencies in her account.

Sean Combs continues to face over three dozen civil suits related to sexual misconduct, but his legal team has declared their innocence, stating that “case after case” will fall apart because there is no truth to them. He remains in custody until his trial on May 5, 2025, on federal criminal charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking.
