Jay-Z, 55, made rare comments about his wife BeyoncĂ© and their three children in response to a federal lawsuit alleging he raped a 13-year-old girl along with Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2000. The amended lawsuit lists both Combs, also 55, as defendants, after it was originally filed against only Combs.
In his denial statement, Jay-Z described the allegations as “heinous” and said they would affect his family, including 12-year-old daughter Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir, aged 7. He claimed he mourns the loss of innocence of those affected by the allegations.
Jay-Z’s lawyer is facing a separate extortion lawsuit from Combs’ attorney, Tony Buzbee, who represents over 100 people accusing Combs of misconduct. Jay-Z accused Buzbee of making a “blackmail attempt” and said he would not settle the case.
The woman identified as Jane Doe in the amended lawsuit alleges she was raped by Combs and Jay-Z at an after-party following the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000. She is seeking unspecified damages and has her attorney, Buzbee, representing more than 100 people accusing Combs of misconduct.
Combs’ attorneys denied the allegations, calling them “shameless publicity stunts” designed to extract payments from celebrities.
