Jay-Z Sues Jane Doe Over Defamation Allegations Amid Rape Lawsuit Drop

Jay-Z’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, has spoken out about the rapper’s decision to file a defamation lawsuit against Jane Doe and her attorneys, Tony Buzbee and David Fortney, amid allegations of rape in 2000. The lawsuit claims that the initial accusations were knowingly false and malicious.

Spiro stated that “the truth had to fully come out” and that Jane Doe cannot hide from reality that the accusations were false. He also alleged that Buzbee pushed her to go forward with the narrative, aiming for a maximum payday.

Jay-Z initially named himself alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs in a lawsuit by Jane Doe but it has since been dropped. The rapper claims that his lawyers and Buzbee’s actions led to him losing $20 million in contracts due to the false allegations. Jay-Z also alleged that he experienced mental anguish.

However, Jane Doe’s attorneys claim that the quotes attributed to her in the lawsuit are made up, and they will deal with the frivolous case. The court has voluntarily dismissed “with prejudice” Jane Doe’s original lawsuit, but she stands by her claims.
