Jay-Z’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, has outlined a range of evidence that shows the rape allegation against him as “provably, demonstrably false.” The woman who made the accusation claimed that Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs sexually assaulted her in 2000 at an after-party for the MTV Music Awards. However, photos show both Jay-Z and Combs at a nightclub following the award show, contradicting the accuser’s story.
According to Spiro, the woman’s claim relies on an “impossible timeline” and a nonexistent location. The lawsuit said the assault happened at a large white residence with a U-shaped driveway, but there is no such property nearby. Additionally, it would take the accuser five hours to drive from Rochester to New York City, making her story even more implausible.
The woman’s father has also denied driving from Rochester to pick her up in New York City as she claimed. Jay-Z’s team claims that the lawsuit is an attempt to “take advantage” of the woman and “destroy the voices of real victims.”
This case comes amid a wave of sexual assault lawsuits levied against Combs, who remains in custody in New York awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
