Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sued by Texas Attorney Over Alleged Conspiracy

A lawsuit was filed against Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and two of its lawyers on Wednesday, alleging violations of state laws and a conspiracy to intimidate the law firm representing 120 people suing Sean “Diddy” Combs. Attorney Tony Buzbee claims that Roc Nation agents pretended to work for the State of Texas and offered his clients up to $10,000 to sue him.

The lawsuit accuses Marcy Croft and Quinn Emanuel of orchestrating a scheme to persuade former and current clients of the Buzbee Law Firm to join lawsuits against Combs. According to documents obtained by Newsweek, one client was offered $1,000 to start the process.

Combs denies all allegations, while the alleged victim in his case has stated that he and Jay-Z were raped at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in 2000. The case is set to go to trial in May 2025.

Buzbee maintains that his firm will not be intimidated by Roc Nation’s actions, stating that they are willing to cooperate with authorities to ensure all involved are prosecuted. However, a representative for Roc Nation has dismissed the lawsuit as “baloney” and an attempt to distract from Buzbee’s own mounting legal woes.
