Jennifer Lopez’s Kiss of the Spider Woman Lands at Roadside Attractions, Lionsgate

Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate are in final talks to take domestic rights to Sundance’s most buzzed-about movie this year, the Bill Condon-directed Jennifer Lopez feature take on Broadway musical Kiss of the Spider Woman. The deal is reportedly worth a net low-$30s for Artists Equity’s production based on Terrence McNally and John Kander and Fred Ebb’s book.

The movie follows Diego Luna and Tonatiuh as Valentín and Luis, jail cellmates in 1983 Argentinian. Gay widow dresser Luis keeps Valentín’s spirits alive with tales about his favorite actress, Ingrid (Lopez). Critics praised the film, giving it an 82% fresh Rotten Tomatoes score.

Lopez stars alongside Condon in her first big Broadway musical movie-starring role since 2019’s Hustlers. Her performance could lead to awards season buzz. The movie will be released in theaters for 18 days, followed by digital release.
