Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr., stars of the iconic ’90s slasher film “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” are back together again in the blood-soaked trailer for the sequel to the 1997 hit. The new installment follows a new generation of characters as they’re stalked by a hook-wielding killer.
The story centers around five friends who accidentally cause a deadly car accident and cover up their involvement, making a pact to keep it a secret. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them in the form of a killer who’s hell-bent on revenge.
The film takes place in Southport, a seaside town that has experienced similar slaughterings and bloodshed before. The friends turn to two survivors of the legendary 1997 Southport Massacre for help as they try to survive the slasher’s deadly game.
Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and written by Robinson and Sam Lansky, “I Know What You Did Last Summer” hits theaters on July 18, 2025. The film boasts a talented cast, including Madelyn Cline, Joshua Orpin, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, Jonah Hauer-King, and Chase Sui Wonders.
