Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt has finally broken her silence on the rumors of a feud with co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Buffy in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” In an interview with Vulture, 46-year-old Hewitt downplayed online speculation about their supposed falling out.
The “I Know What You Did Last Summer” star revealed that she hadn’t seen or communicated with Gellar since her 18th birthday when the hit 1997 film was released. When asked if they had spoken in recent years, Hewitt admitted that they were still friends but hadn’t been in touch due to other commitments.
Gellar recently sparked speculation about their feud by sharing a trailer for the 2025 sequel without tagging Hewitt. However, Gellar later explained on Instagram that she was bound by a non-disclosure agreement and didn’t want to break it.
Hewitt played the lead character Julie James in both “I Know What You Did Last Summer” (1998) and its 2025 sequel, while Gellar reprised her role as Buffy’s love interest Ray Bronson. Their on-screen chemistry remains intact, with both actresses attending the film’s premiere together.
The two stars have seemingly put their rumored feud behind them, with Hewitt expressing hope to catch up with Gellar in the future.
