Jeremy Allen White will soon join Netflix as star and executive producer for the limited series adaptation of André Aciman’s novel **Enigma Variations**, marking his return to TV after roles in The Bear. Based on a story about a man named Paul whose loves remain as consuming and covetous throughout his adulthood as they were in his adolescence, the show will explore his enduring passion across various settings, from southern Italy to New England. White will portray Paul, with Amanda Kate Shuman serving as writer, executive producer, and showrunner; Oliver Hermanus directing and producing alongside Aciman, who is also set to executive produce along with White. Deadline broke the news first, and Netflix declined to comment. Before, Aciman helmed the Oscar-nominated film *Call Me By Your Name*, and White has previously won two Emmys and three Golden Globes for his role as Carmy on FX’s *The Bear*. The series sounds like it could be a laugh riot, with White’s dynamic presence promising to bring another winning comedy to Netflix.
