Jeremy Clarkson has expressed his disapproval towards the violent scenes targeting Elon Musk’s Tesla stores, mainly criticizing the left for their “hysterical” reactions to the US creator’s actions in President Donald Trump’s government.
The Top Gear star mentioned that he believes this is a form of “payback” for Musk’s previous attack on his show. Clarkson pointed out that many supporters of Musk are from the liberal and environmentalist communities, which often reject electric vehicles like Tesla due to their carbon footprint.
He joked about how these groups have become so vocal in opposing certain products or ideas that it has almost become a social taboo to support them. Clarkson also mentioned that vegetarianism could potentially be “blacklisted” in society if Hitler’s dietary preference were to become more widely accepted.
However, Clarkson made it clear that he believes the left is more at fault for these violent incidents than the right, stating that many of those opposed to Musk are unemployed and have nothing better to do with their time. Despite this, he feels that attacking Tesla stores over a difference in opinion with its founder is “unfair” and poses danger to employees and customers.
Clarkson’s comments come as the news cycle continues to focus on acts of vandalism taking place at Tesla stores across the US.
