Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has dismissed Micah Parsons’ trade request, saying he won’t consider trading the star pass rusher. Jones spent 16 minutes answering questions about Parsons’ contract situation, citing an agreement they made in March as the reason for his stance.
The agreement was supposed to be about leadership, but Parsons took that off the table, leading to the current negotiations. Jones claims he offered Parsons a deal worth nearly $200 million, but hasn’t revealed specific details. He’s open to negotiating with Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, but prefers direct talks with the player.
Jones pointed out the Cowboys have a history of reaching deals with star players, including Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. He emphasized that negotiations are about putting the best team on the field and not just about individual needs. Jones urged fans to not lose sleep over the situation, saying “it’s all part of any relationship.”
