A JetBlue Airbus A220 veered onto grass while landing at Boston Logan International Airport on Thursday, causing a temporary ground stop for departing flights. The flight, 312, was coming from Chicago O’Hare International Airport and was assessed by officials after passengers were evacuated via stairs to the terminal.
The incident occurred around 11:55 a.m. local time and affected the new aircraft, manufactured in 2024. According to Massport officials, there were no injuries reported. JetBlue stated that safety is their top priority and plans to conduct a full investigation into the cause of the incident.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) lifted an earlier ground stop issued at the airport and has launched its own investigation into the matter. FlightAware reports that the Boston airport was under a ground delay impacting about 14% of departing flights on Thursday afternoon.
