The New York Jets have confirmed that quarterback Justin Fields will be their starter in the upcoming 2025 season. General manager Darren Mougey stated on Sunday that Fields is “the guy” and expressed confidence in his abilities, saying, “We believe Justin is the starter. We believe in Justin. We believe we can win with Justin.”
Fields, who joined the Jets via trade last offseason, will be starting his third team in three seasons after previously playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks. Coach Aaron Glenn praised Fields’ skills, stating that he has “a quiet confidence about himself” and is capable of throwing the deep ball well.
Despite the Giants still having a strong chance to select a quarterback with their No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, the Jets are moving forward with Fields at the helm. With Fields taking over as starter, the team aims to make sure he excels and becomes one of the better quarterbacks in the league.
