Seattle Storm star point guard Jewell Loyd has requested a trade from the team, following an external investigation into bullying allegations made by her against the coaching staff. The investigation found no policy violations or clear discrimination, harassment, or bullying. Loyd’s future in Seattle was contingent on resolving the issues, but it appears she will leave after a decade-long tenure with the team. This comes as a shock, given her recent signing of a two-year supermax extension and her role as a perennial All-Star and locker room leader. The Storm will draft 9th overall in the WNBA Draft this spring, opening their season against the Phoenix Mercury on May 17.
