Actress Jill Jacobson, known for her roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Falcon Crest, and Days of Our Lives, has died at the age of 70. Her friend and publicist Daniel Harary confirmed the news on Sunday, Dec. 15.
Jacobson had been open about her struggles with esophageal cancer, which she revealed during an episode of the Jim Masters Show in September. She said the disease “took me out of the game for a while” but that it also made her grateful to be alive and eager to help others.
The actress, who was originally from Texas, had a long and varied career, starring in films like Nurse Sherri and Forbidden Love, as well as TV shows such as Falcon Crest and Days of Our Lives. She also appeared in several Star Trek series, including The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine.
Jacobson’s family released a statement saying she was “beautiful, energetic, and positive to the end,” and that her beloved dogs Benny and Kowalski would be deeply missed.
