When answering “what’s your biggest weakness?” in a job interview, it can seem like the wrong thing to say. But career expert John Lee says having an honest answer can show your strengths and how you’re growing.
Lee suggests thinking of this question as a chance to demonstrate self-awareness and growth. He advises framing your weakness as something you’re actively working on improving. This could be anything from public speaking or teamwork, to time management or leadership skills.
Example:
Instead of saying “I’m too shy in meetings,” say: “I’ve realized that I need to work on my assertiveness in team discussions to ensure everyone’s voice is heard.”
