WWE Raw results, highlights (Mar. 31): The European tour concluded with a thrilling episode that showcased the best interactions between WWE’s top stars. John Cena and Cody Rhodes delivered an epic promo battle before their match, which ended with Rhodes’ revenge after Cena teased an attack.
Cena, portrayed as his usual heel persona, leaned into being the “burial artist” he was criticized for during his full-time WWE run. However, despite his efforts, Cena’s character still feels like it’s acting, rather than natural. The segment was great, but this is an aesthetic problem that may persist.
The storyline involving The Rock remains a dark cloud, as Rhodes mentioned him in a sellout line without any explanation for his absence from the angle. It is unclear why WWE dropped The Rock from this prominent angle, possibly due to his busy schedule.
Jimmy Uso’s match with Gunther was all gas and no breaks, showcasing Uso’s brilliance from the past week. WWE made the right call in not getting it wrong with Jey Uso, who remains more invested in him than his brother Jimmy.
The segment featuring The Usos, particularly Big Jim, played a crucial role in its success. Hopefully, they will return to the tag-team picture soon. Gunther’s inevitable loss at WrestleMania 41 is clear, but fans can still root for The Usos’ comeback.
Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley’s Women’s World Championship rematch with Bianca Belair was a solid show despite some dodgy moments. The final image of Ripley standing tall after decimating both women set the stage for an epic match at WrestleMania 41.
Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate were unexpectedly reunited as the New Catch Republic, but this move feels like damage control rather than a well-planned booking decision.
The Judgment Day’s win over Penta and Bron Breakker was a fun moment, despite some controversy surrounding the pin. The question remains whether WWE will deliver on their promise of three epic triple-threat matches at WrestleMania 41.
Logan Paul’s Paulverizer finisher was impressive, and AJ Styles sold it perfectly in their promo battle. However, the promos were clunky and disjointed, which detracted from the match.
Overall, this episode of WWE Raw was strong, but not perfect. With some minor adjustments, it could have reached a 10/10 score.
