Johnson & Johnson’s Bankruptcy Bid Rejected by Federal Judge

A federal judge has rejected Johnson & Johnson’s third attempt to use bankruptcy to set up a trust fund for women claiming cancer caused by its talcum powder and other products. The company had proposed establishing a multibillion-dollar fund, but the US Bankruptcy Judge Christopher Lopez dismissed the proposal after a two-week trial in Houston. The judge found that a vote of cancer victims on the proposal was flawed.
