Johnsonville Recalls Cheddar Brats in 10 States Due to Hard Plastic Material

Johnsonville, a sausage company based in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, has recalled about 22,672 pounds of cheddar bratwursts due to the presence of hard plastic material. The recall affects products sold in 10 states, including Wisconsin.

The affected products were produced on February 5, 2025, at Johnsonville’s plant in Illinois and have a package code B9FOD and establishment number “Est. 1647” on the front of the label. Consumers can identify these products by checking their freezers for the recalled brats, which are 19-ounce, sealed tray packages with five cheddar brats.

Johnsonville is urging consumers not to eat the recalled products, instead throwing them away or returning them to the place of purchase. No injuries have been reported from consuming the product. Consumers can find more information on the USDA’s recall website or call a toll-free hotline at 888-674-6854 for food safety questions.

A list of retailers who sold the affected product will be published separately.
