Josh Allen Sets Records in Dominant Bills Win Over Lions

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen continued his stellar season by leading the team to a 48-42 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The win improved Buffalo’s record to 11-3, keeping their bid for the No. 1 seed alive.

Allen had an impressive game, completing 23 of 34 passes (67.6%) for 362 yards and two passing touchdowns. He also added 11 carries for 68 yards and two rushing touchdowns. His performance set a new record for consecutive seasons with 35 combined passing and rushing touchdowns in NFL history.

Coach Sean McDermott praised Allen’s consistency, saying, “He consistently does it. It’s not luck, it’s not a fluke. It’s just who he is.” The coach also credited the team’s offense, which started strong with three straight touchdown drives before slowing down slightly.

The Bills’ running game was also effective, with 197 yards against the Lions and four rushing touchdowns. Allen found success against the Lions’ blitz, going 9-of-13 for 124 yards with two touchdowns and a scramble. He took advantage of his ability to throw outside the pocket, with 171 passing yards on such throws.

Allen’s recent form has been impressive, including a six-touchdown performance last week. The quarterback’s dominant play earned him improved MVP odds, now at -900 per ESPN BET. Despite a scare after taking a “funky fall” in the game, Allen said everything checked out and it was just precautionary measure for peace of mind.

The Bills’ victory marked their eighth straight game with 30-plus points, tying an NFL record. Tight end Dawson Knox praised Allen’s incredible abilities, saying, “He’s so much fun to play with that dude. It’s really a privilege.”
