JPMorgan Chase’s new headquarters at 270 Park Avenue is set to open this month, featuring various amenities to ease employees’ return to office work five days a week. However, some staff members are unhappy about the “cutting-edge” fitness center that will require a monthly membership fee.
The $3 billion skyscraper boasts a food hall with multiple cafes and art displays from former bank chairman David Rockefeller’s collection. An Irish pub is also part of the amenities. Despite these perks, employees took to Reddit to express their dissatisfaction over the fitness center’s cost. One user jokingly complained about being able to afford it, while another pointed out that offering free access to 14,000 people could be challenging.
The bank initially promised a free fitness center, but JPMorgan Chase spokesman Michael Fusco denied this claim, stating that details on its operation were not shared earlier due to finalization. The fitness center will provide users with access to various equipment, group exercise classes, and consulting services.
