Judge scolds Meta team for wearing glasses with camera at trial.

A California judge publicly reprimanded members of Mark Zuckerberg’s team for wearing glasses with cameras while entering a Los Angeles courtroom for a landmark social media trial. The incident, described as an “extraordinary misstep” by Meta, occurred when the judge ordered anyone in the courtroom to remove their AI glasses due to local rules banning video recording and photography.

Judge Carolyn Kuhl noted that the use of facial recognition technology is also banned. Zuckerberg testified as part of a trial addressing whether social media platforms deliberately encourage compulsive usage among young people. The plaintiff claims using social media from a young age led to mental health issues.
