Amazon MGM’s psychological thriller “After the Hunt” has sparked controversy after a preview was shown at CinemaCon. In the film, Julia Roberts plays a college professor who faces accusations from a star student (Ayo Edebiri) and must confront a dark secret from her own past.
During the presentation, the scene unfolds where Edebiri’s character is accused of plagiarism by Andrew Garfield’s colleague, revealing a generational bias. The situation escalates when Edebiri’s character accuses Roberts’ character of sexual assault, leading to a dramatic turn in the story.
Directed by Luca Guadagnino, the film explores themes of personal and professional crossroads, as well as the consequences of past actions. “After the Hunt” is set to be released in theaters on October 10.
