Jump to apps with Windows 11’s new keyboard shortcut

Microsoft has started testing a new feature in the latest Dev Channel Insider build of Windows 11 that allows users to jump to specific apps on the taskbar by pressing a letter key after pressing WIN + T. This feature is part of the Windows 11 Build 26120.1542, which also includes other changes and improvements.

The new feature works as follows: after pressing WIN + T, you can press a letter key, and Windows 11 will jump to an open or pinned app whose name starts with that letter. If you press multiple letters, the feature will jump to the next app whose name starts with those letters. If you’re using an uncombined taskbar, the feature will use window names instead.

In addition to this new feature, the Windows 11 Build 26120.1542 also includes other changes and improvements, such as a new position for the Widgets entry point on left-aligned taskbars and the ability to jump to the first and last items in the taskbar with the Home and End buttons, respectively.

Microsoft has listed the new features, changes, and fixes in a blog post about the build. Note that these features and improvements are rolling out to Insiders as an optional toggle on.
