“Jurassic World Rebirth Roars to Life at Box Office”

The summer movie season is in full swing, with dinosaurs and high-octane racing taking center stage. Universal’s “Jurassic World Rebirth” dominated the box office on its opening weekend, raking in $26 million from 6,105 venues. The film, directed by Gareth Edwards, stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey as they hunt for dino DNA to cure heart-related diseases.

Despite having the lowest opening of any “Jurassic World” installment, the film is expected to earn over $140 million by Sunday, slotting it as the seventh-highest domestic earner of 2025. The Universal camp will be eager to maintain holiday momentum through the coming weeks, given the film’s production budget of around $180 million.

The weekend’s top five films are:

1. “Jurassic World Rebirth” ($26 million)
2. “F1” ($7 million), with a projected 72% drop from its debut
3. “How to Train Your Dragon” ($2.8 million), projecting a 50% drop for its fourth-weekend gross
4. “Elio” ($1.5 million), representing a 53% drop, and estimated $54 million by the end of the weekend
5. “28 Years Later” ($1.15 million), with a domestic total expected to reach $60 million
