Actor Justin Baldoni is asking a judge to prevent his ex-girlfriend and co-star Blake Lively from accessing years of his phone records. Baldoni claims that Lively’s subpoenas are “flagrantly overbroad” and invasive, revealing sensitive location data and browser history.
Lively’s lawyers have issued subpoenas to major phone companies AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, seeking further evidence to support their claim that Baldoni engaged in a smear campaign against her. The records sought include call logs, text messages, and web browsing history from December 2022 onwards.
Baldoni’s lawyer argues that the requests are “wildly disproportionate” to the needs of the case and could invade the privacy of hundreds of third parties, including family members and business partners. He also claims that Lively’s team is engaging in a “media ploy,” using the subpoena leak to generate publicity.
In response, Lively’s spokesperson has accused Baldoni’s team of being afraid to produce evidence, saying “if they have so many receipts why are they so afraid to produce them?” The dispute highlights the complex and contentious nature of the defamation case between the two former lovers.
