Justin Gaethje has lost his fight against Dan Hooker at UFC 313 due to a hand injury suffered by “The Hangman.” In light of this, several high-profile lightweights have expressed their willingness to step up and challenge Gaethje. Rafael Fiziev, who lost to Gaethje at UFC 286, is the first to throw his hat into the ring, tweeting “Let’s run it back.” The Russian fighter has been eager for a rematch since injuring his knee in September 2023.
Mateusz Gamrot, who recently lost to Hooker via split decision, also wants a second chance against Gaethje. He believes he was unlucky with the judges and is looking forward to proving himself. Renato Moicano, known for fighting on short notice, has also expressed interest in stepping up, citing his ability to prepare for two or three sparring sessions.
Justin Gaethje needs a new opponent for UFC 313, but Paul Felder has opted out of the fight, as he doesn’t want to be involved. The UFC has not announced an official replacement yet, leaving the possibility open that the fight could be rescheduled rather than Gaethje facing a short-notice opponent next Saturday.
