Kanye West Seeks Trial Delay Amid Negative Media Coverage

Kanye West has requested a Los Angeles judge to delay his upcoming trial against ex-employee Tony Saxon, citing difficulty in securing legal representation due to negative media coverage. The trial, currently scheduled for February 24, is now being considered for postponement to August or a later date.

Kanye West’s lawyer, Manoj Shah, stated that the rapper faced “extreme hardship and difficulty retaining litigation counsel” due to extensive negative media coverage. This led to him being unable to secure new representation until recently hiring Eduardo Martorell as his lead counsel. Despite this, Shah assured the court that West is prepared to engage with Martorell for this case.

Saxon, who filed a discrimination lawsuit against West in September 2023, claims he was required to sleep on the floor and promised $20,000 per week for his services. He was fired after refusing to comply with certain demands, leading him to file a lawsuit. West’s request for a trial delay has been granted, pending further court proceedings.
