Kanye West has stopped posting on the social media platform X, citing a need to “vent” after airing his shoe brand Yeezy during the Super Bowl. The artist had written a farewell post before going dark.
West was banned from X in October 2022 for antisemitic posts but was reinstated later that month. He made headlines again when he posted about being a Nazi and loving Hitler, sparking criticism from celebrities like David Schwimmer.
Schwimmer called out X’s owner Elon Musk for giving West a platform, saying “we CAN stop giving him a megaphone” by not amplifying his hate-filled comments. The actor pointed out that West has 32.7 million followers on the platform, many of whom may have been exposed to his toxic content.
