British actress Kate Winslet is set to make her directorial debut with the Netflix film “Goodbye June”. The movie stars alongside Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, and Helen Mirren. Winslet will also be part of the cast.
Produced by herself and Kate Solomon, the film was written by Joe Anders. Its logline reads: a present-day drama about siblings pulling together under sudden circumstances in England. Production is expected to start soon.
Winslet’s previous roles include “Lee”, where she played Elizabeth Miller, and notable films like “Titanic”, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”, and “Revolutionary Road”. She has been nominated for seven Oscars and won one for her role in “The Reader”.
The film will mark a new chapter in Winslet’s career as a director.
