Veteran safety Keanu Neal has announced his retirement from the NFL, bringing an end to a storied 8-season career. The 29-year-old Neal played in 89 games for four teams – the Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Neal’s best season came in 2017, when he earned his only Pro Bowl appearance after setting a career high with 116 tackles. He spent several years with the Falcons before signing with the Cowboys in 2021 and switching to linebacker. Neal later returned to the secondary for two seasons, first with the Buccaneers and then the Steelers.
Neal’s impressive career statistics include 523 tackles, four interceptions, and eight forced fumbles. Reflecting on his time in the NFL, Neal stated that the lessons he learned through the game have helped shape him into the person he is today.
