Keegan Bradley Keeps Clubs at Home, Names Ryder Cup Picks

Keegan Bradley announced his departure from the US Ryder Cup team, choosing six captain’s picks instead of himself. The decision marks the end of a months-long drama about Bradley’s playing status.

Bradley will join Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Ben Griffin, Patrick Cantlay, Sam Burns, and Cameron Young on the 12-man US roster for next month’s Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. The team already includes automatic qualifiers Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Bryson DeChambeau, Russell Henley, and Harris English.

Bradley said his decision was made earlier in the season, as he realized that other players had stepped up to secure spots on the team. The 39-year-old captain cited Thomas’s experience, Morikawa’s accuracy, and Griffin’s complete game as reasons for their inclusion.

The US roster has struggled in recent Ryder Cups, winning only three of the last 11 editions. However, Bradley remains optimistic about the team’s chances at Bethpage Black, saying that he is happy with his decision to step down from the active roster.

Bradley will now focus on leading the US team and helping them win on home soil. The opposing captain, Luke Donald, is expected to announce his six picks for the European team next week.
