Keir Starmer Warns Glastonbury Against Kneecap Performance

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has expressed concerns over Kneecap’s upcoming performance at Glastonbury festival, citing a band member’s alleged support for the proscribed terrorist organisation Hezbollah. Starmer stated that he doesn’t think the group is “appropriate” to perform, referencing threats made by the group.

Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has also called for the BBC not to show Kneecap’s performance, accusing them of spreading propaganda and rewarding extremism. The BBC, however, claims it will adhere to its editorial guidelines and ensure that its programming is extensive and diverse.

Kneecap member Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh was recently released on bail after being charged with terrorism-related offenses. He has stated his intention to perform at Glastonbury next Saturday, with the band also planning to appear on BBC programming if they cannot attend the festival in person.
