Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband, manager, and father of her two children, Brandon Blackstock, has passed away at the age of 48 due to melanoma, a form of skin cancer. The news was confirmed by his family in a statement released on August 7th. Clarkson announced that she would be postponing additional shows from her Las Vegas residency due to a family emergency.
Blackstock’s death comes after he bravely battled cancer for over three years, with Clarkson reportedly remaining protective of him throughout his illness. The singer and Blackstock were married in 2013 but divorced in 2022. Clarkson received primary physical custody of their children while paying $45,000 a month in child support.
The news has been met with tributes from Blackstock’s family members, including his half-brother Shelby McEntire, who shared a heartfelt message on social media.
