LSU Tigers head coach Brian Kelly has addressed the recent portrayal of him in a Good Morning America report regarding former defensive back Greg Brooks Jr. Kelly took issue with his character and compassion being drawn into question as Brooks underwent a serious traumatic brain surgery in September 2023.
Kelly refuted claims that he was disengaged and disinterested in Brooks, stating that he and his program love Brooks Jr. The press conference was initially scheduled to discuss LSU’s transfer portal signees and new staff members but shifted focus to address the controversy surrounding Brooks’ report.
Kelly led off his statement emphasizing his support for Brooks Jr., clarifying his character and compassion were misrepresented by the national piece.
