Kennedy Center Honors 2024: Metallic Glamour on Display

The 47th annual Kennedy Center Honors took place earlier this month, but the ceremony is finally coming to air tonight on CBS from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. ET and will be streamed live and on-demand on Paramount+. The event honored prestigious figures in performing arts, including director Francis Ford Coppola, Grateful Dead members, jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, singer-songwriter Bonnie Raitt, and the historic Apollo Theater.

This year’s ceremony featured a dazzling array of metallic looks, which continue to trend in fashion. Designers took inspiration from metallic trends seen on the red carpet at the CMA Awards 2024 and Emmy Awards 2024, with many ensembles showcasing beaded silver, gold, or pink hues.

Some standout looks included J’Nai Bridges’s eye-catching beaded silver gown, Queen Latifah’s silver beaded dress with floral appliqué, and Chloë Sevigny’s patchwork dress paired with Western boots. Other notable looks came from Debbie Allen, Brandi Carlile, and Doug E. Fresh, who all opted for metallic-inspired outfits.

The Kennedy Center Honors ceremony is a prestigious event that recognizes contributions to American culture in various fields of performing arts. With its 47th installment, the event continues to celebrate the achievements of talented individuals in music, dance, theater, opera, motion pictures, and television.
