Kentucky Derby Loses Bob Baffert-Trained Horse Amid Controversy

The Kentucky Derby has lost a horse trained by the infamous Bob Baffert due to safety concerns over a foot injury. Rodriguez, a long shot with odds of 12-1, will no longer compete in the prestigious event after his team decided to pull him out “out of an abundance of caution.”

Rodriguez was set to run from the No.4 position but has been replaced by Baeza, a 50-1 underdog trained by John A. Shirreffs. This move comes on the back of another horse, Grande, being scratched from the race due to a foot injury as well. However, it’s worth noting that Grande’s replacement hasn’t been announced yet.

Despite this setback, Baffert still has two horses in the Derby: Citizen Bull at 20-1 odds and Journalism at 3-1 odds, making them among the top contenders for the event.
