KFC Moves Corporate HQ from Kentucky to Texas

KFC’s parent company, Yum Brands, has announced that the fast-food chain is relocating its corporate headquarters from Kentucky to Texas. The move will combine KFC’s offices with Pizza Hut’s in Plano, a Dallas suburb. This decision comes as part of Yum’s plan to consolidate US headquarters into just two locations.

The relocation has sparked criticism from Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, who expressed disappointment and said he believes Colonel Sanders would also be disappointed by the move. KFC has struggled with declining sales in recent years, but will continue to operate a flagship restaurant in Louisville.

Around 100 employees based in Louisville are expected to relocate to Texas over the next six months, while another 90 remote workers will make the same move to the new combined headquarters. This marks the latest in a trend of companies relocating to Texas, citing tax breaks and business-friendly regulations as reasons for their moves.
