KFC Moving US Headquarters to Texas for Growth

KFC is leaving Kentucky and moving its US headquarters to a Dallas suburb called Plano, Texas. The company will be headquartered in Plano alongside Pizza Hut Global. Around 100 employees will need to relocate within the next six months, while another 90 remote workers will be required to move over the next 18 months.

The decision is part of Yum! Brands’ plan for sustainable growth and better serving its customers, employees, franchisees, and shareholders. CEO David Gibbs said this change will help maximize the company’s culture and talent as a competitive advantage. KFC will continue to maintain a presence in Louisville with plans to build a flagship restaurant.

In 2020, Papa Johns moved its headquarters from Louisville to Atlanta, but will keep staff in the city despite selling the former building. This move marks another significant change for KFC, but the company remains committed to supporting its local community.
