KFC Relocates US Headquarters to Texas Amid Shift Away from Kentucky Roots

Yum Brands has announced plans to shift its brands into offices in Texas and California, marking a significant change for the fried chicken chain’s roots in Kentucky. The company will designate two brand headquarters in the US – one in Plano, Texas, and one in Irvine, California – as part of a bid to foster greater collaboration among brands and employees.

KFC’s parent company will maintain corporate offices in Louisville, Kentucky, but the majority of its US-based corporate office employees will relocate to the Plano headquarters. Around 90 remote employees will also be called back to the office over the next 18 months.

The relocation is part of a larger effort by Yum Brands to restructure and adapt to changing market conditions. The company has reported an 8% sales growth globally, with KFC’s sales growing 6%, in its latest quarterly earnings report. Yum Brands’ stock has also seen a significant increase of around 10% at the start of the year.

The move away from Kentucky roots comes as KFC looks to expand its operations and maintain its position as one of the world’s largest fast-food chains, with over 4,100 stores in the US and more than 30,000 globally.
