Kia Recalls Vehicles, Heaters, and Pet Food Due to Safety Issues

Kia has issued multiple recalls following safety concerns involving airbags, electric vehicles, space heaters, and even pet food. The automaker is addressing issues like damaged floor wiring in electric cars (Niro EVs, Plug-in Hybrids, and hybrids), potential overheating in space heaters, Salmonella contamination in dog food, and vehicle movement while parked.

Kia has recalled over 80,000 electric and hybrid vehicles affected by airbag deployment problems caused by floor wiring damage. Owners are urged to visit a Kia dealer for free inspections and repairs. Additionally, dealers will install wiring covers as part of the fix. Owners should expect notification letters in March 2025.

Kia also issued a separate recall for over 427,000 Telluride vehicles with potential movement issues while parked due to improper shaft assembly. Owners can contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542 or visit the NHTSA website for more details.

The recall for Salmonella-tainted blue ridge beef was a standalone issue, but Kia’s focus on vehicle and product safety highlights its commitment to addressing risks in all areas of its operations. For more information, consumers can visit the NHTSA’s website or call 1-888-327-4236.
