Kid Cudi Testifies in Diddy’s Trial, Supports Cassie Ventura Amid Allegations of Abuse

Rapper Scott Mescudi, known as Kid Cudi, testified in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking and racketeering trial but expressed no desire to take the stand. However, he made it clear that his primary focus was supporting his friend, Cassie Ventura, who accused Combs of assault during their relationship.

Mescudi shared that he dated Ventura from 2008 to 2011, during which time they met in 2008 and began a romantic relationship around 2011. He stated that at the time, he knew Combs had problems with Ventura and that his house was broken into, and his car was set on fire.

During the trial, Mescudi shared that he received a frantic phone call from Ventura in December 2011, telling him that Combs discovered they were dating. She claimed Combs was abusive, stating that he would hit her and sometimes kick her. However, Mescudi believed she never mentioned any possible sexual abuse.

Mescudi testified that he eventually realized that his house had been the target of a break-in while he was away, with his security cameras moved and gifts opened in his kitchen. He did not see Combs at the scene but received a call from him saying he wanted to talk.

After detailing an alleged break-in at his house, Mescudi shared that his Porsche was later vandalized with a Molotov cocktail, causing significant damage. He believed Combs was behind the car fire, despite being told by authorities to not pursue it further due to lack of concrete evidence.

Mescudi’s testimony revealed that he met with Combs at a hotel in 2012 and discussed their relationship. However, when asked about the car fire, Combs denied any involvement, stating “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Mescudi felt that this response was off-putting given the circumstances.

The rapper testified that his relationship with Ventura ended due to the drama surrounding Combs’ behavior and concerns for both their safety. Although they broke up, Mescudi maintained a connection with Ventura until 2015, when he met Combs again and received an apology from him.

Ultimately, the jury found Combs not guilty on racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges but found him guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution.
