Kid Rock Praises Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show as ‘DEI Blowing Up’

Kid Rock recently praised Kendrick Lamar’s historic Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, calling it “the epitome of DEI blowing up.” In an appearance on Real Time With Bill Maher, the musician acknowledged that he didn’t personally enjoy the show but respected its impact. He theorized that the NFL’s diversity and inclusion initiatives played a role in Lamar’s involvement.

Kid Rock believes that Kendrick Lamar came out with both middle fingers raised during his performance, doing what he does for fans who love hip-hop culture unapologetically. The musician also expressed admiration for the show, comparing it to how he built his own career.

However, Kid Rock did mention that without Colin Kaepernick’s protest during the national anthem and other events, Kendrick Lamar might not have been invited to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show. He suggested sending a “thank you” note with money to Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar for their involvement in promoting DEI initiatives.

Additionally, Kid Rock discussed the upcoming tour dates, noting that he has diverse band members who are liberal or LGBTQ+. The musician also mentioned his desire to address the unfairness in the concert ticket business, including the TICKET Act’s mandatory all-in pricing and ban on speculative ticket sales.
