Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is stepping closer to becoming a lawyer after completing a legal apprenticeship in California. The entrepreneur has completed a program that allows individuals to study under a lawyer or judge, paving the way for her to take the state bar exam.
Kardashian’s mentor, lawyer Jessica Jackson, described her journey as “one of the most inspiring” and praised her dedication, stating that she spent 18 hours a week, 48 weeks a year, over six years completing the program. Kardashian’s late father, Robert Kardashian, was also an attorney and had represented clients like O.J. Simpson.
The milestone comes after Kardashian testified in a Paris courtroom about her fear of being killed during a 2016 armed robbery. She has been an advocate for criminal justice reform and successfully lobbied for President Donald Trump to commute the sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, a grandmother serving a life sentence without parole for drug offenses, in 2018.
