Kim Kardashian opened up about her short-lived marriage to former NBA star Kris Humphries on the latest episode of The Kardashians. The reality star, who was married to Humphries for just 72 days in 2011, shared a surprising detail about their relationship.
The couple’s estrangement lasted nearly two years, with rumors swirling that the marriage was a publicity stunt to promote their E! series Keeping Up With the Kardashians. However, Kim revealed that she had to give back her engagement ring to Humphries as part of their divorce.
Kim told Lorraine Schwartz, the family jeweler who designed the ring, that she paid for nearly half of it herself and Humphries contributed only 1/5th of its price. The ring was auctioned off after the divorce, fetching $749,000.
In a surprising twist, Kim shared that she had to give back the ring because Humphries said she had to in order to get a divorce. She also mentioned that she would have loved to keep it as part of her collection.
The details come as Kim previously joked about reconnecting with Humphries after Khloe reconnected with her ex Lamar Odom.
