Kim Sae Ron’s mother has broken her silence on her daughter’s dating controversy with actor Kim Soo Hyun. The family had accused Kim Soo Hyun of dating Kim Sae Ron when she was 15, but his agency clarified that the relationship started after she turned 18.
In a new statement, Kim Sae Ron’s mother demanded an apology from Kim Soo Hyun and his agency. She claimed that the agency manipulated the media over three years, denying their relationship despite multiple occasions where they were spotted together. The mother also called for recognition of her daughter’s contributions to the agency as a founding member.
Furthermore, Kim Sae Ron’s mother criticized her agency for pressuring her to repay ₩700 million KRW (around $482,000 USD) after she covered her expenses related to a DUI case in 2022. This pressure reportedly contributed to her tragic death by suicide in February last year. The agency must now acknowledge Kim Sae Ron’s contributions and apologize for the way they handled the situation.
