King Charles and Queen Camilla’s 20th wedding anniversary will be marked on April 9 during their state visit to Italy. To celebrate, the royal couple released two new photos taken by photographer Chris Jackson at Villa Wolkonsky in Rome. The images show King Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla, 76, smiling together.
The couple’s special day marks a significant milestone in their relationship, coming after they faced public scrutiny over an affair during Charles’ marriage to Princess Diana. They wed in 2005 with just 28 guests, including the King’s sons and Camilla’s children from her previous marriage.
During their trip, King Charles and Queen Camilla will attend a state banquet at the Quirinale Palace on Wednesday. The couple touched down at Rome’s Ciampino airport earlier this week, receiving a royal welcome with a red carpet and display of the Royal Standard and Italian flag.
Originally planned to meet Pope Francis at the Vatican, the audience has been canceled due to the Pope’s recent illness. However, the royals will still make time for engagements following King Charles’ recent health setback.
