King Charles III and Queen Camilla Celebrate 20 Years Together

King Charles III and Queen Camilla have celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary with a pair of romantic portraits shared on social media. The photos, taken at Villa Wolkonsky in Rome, show the couple posing arm in arm in an outdoor area, as well as gazing lovingly at each other from a concrete ledge.

The royal couple is currently on a four-day state visit to Italy, during which Charles will address the Italian parliament. This marks Charles’ 17th official visit to Italy and his first overseas trip this year, despite undergoing treatment for an unspecified form of cancer.

Charles and Camilla met in 1970 but didn’t formalize their relationship due to her lack of aristocratic credentials at the time. They rekindled their romance in 1986 amid Charles’ failing marriage to Princess Diana. The couple married on April 9, 2005, eight years after Diana’s death.

The photos were captioned by the royal couple as they began their first visit to Italy as King and Queen, saying “A presto, Roma e Ravenna!” – a playful Italian phrase that roughly translates to “See you soon, Rome and Ravenna.”
